The Young Gathering Ball

The Young Gathering returns to our favourite Chelsea venue on Thursday 17 December 2026. This is a high-energy, formal evening of Scottish reeling for students currently in Years 11, 12 and 13.

Evening Schedule

• 7pm: Doors open for drinks reception and filling in dance cards
• 7.30pm: First dance (Dashing White Sergeant)
• 9pm: 15 Minute Break / Interval
• 10.45pm: Dancing ends
• 11pm: Carriages

Dress Code

Highland Dress, Black Tie, long dresses or skirts. Shoes that spin are strongly recommended. No trainers please.

Who Can Attend?

• This Ball is for students currently in Years 11, 12 and 13.
• Group Tickets Only (for groups of 8 or more reelers, containing equal numbers of boys and girls)
• No experience needed: Everyone is welcome
• Optional Pre-Ball Practice: At St Columba’s on the same day as the Ball. Strongly recommended for beginners! More info about this later. 
• On the night: The reels will be called by John Carver (@JohnTheCaller)

When to Book

Tickets will go on sale on Thursday 1st October at 7pm. We anticipate high demand, so we recommend booking promptly!

Refunds

Tickets are non-refundable once purchased. If you would like the option to claim a refund in certain circumstances, please select Refund Protection at checkout. If you are unable to attend, you are very welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else.
